4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!

Different take on the whole werewolf story. Keeps you guessing because very little of the story is predictable. There is a steady progression of the characters and none of them all of a sudden become so strong they cannot loose. The characters behave like normal people and not so powerfull they are unbeatable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Catch A Wolf

Catch A Wolf by A. Katie Rose is the second book in the Saga of the Black Wolf. It continues the story of Raine aka The Wolf and Ly'tana warrior princess of Kel'halla. After completing the first book in the series I was eager to read the sequel as such when the opportunity arose for me to read and review it I immediately ceased it.

The story started out with a bang as it picked up where In A Wolf's Eyes left off. However, after sometime the story began to drag and for a moment I felt like I would not be able to finish the book, but I am glad that I persevered to the end as it proved to be a worthwhile read.

The characters were engaging and very well developed. They helped to bring life to the story. Brutal as usual, was up to his old tricks. He was obsessed with capturing Ly'Tana and Raine no matter the price. He was a cowardly ruler who relied heavily on the strength of his army, which would eventually be his downfall.
Ly'tana and Rygel are loyal to Raine until the very end. They are his tower of strength. Ly'tanna has a really strong personality. She was not afraid to face her enemies and she would fight to the death to protect those she loved.

Arianne, Raine's sister is an enigma. At first she appeared as if she was fragile and weak as a result of being enslaved most of her life, but there are moments when she reveals a side that shows she is a force to reckon with.

In this sequel we see Raine discovering his true heritage and the internal struggles, he faced when he refused to accept his destiny. Nevertheless, after much soul searching and prodding from those close to him, he acknowledges who and what he is, which led to an emotional ending. As a result, I am eager to see what will happen next in this series.

Catch A Wolf shows that all of us were born for a purpose and we must be willing to fulfill this purpose no matter the cost. It also shows us that we need to accept ourselves as we are and not try to be something we are not as this will lead to us living a miserable life.

This was an interesting and entertaining read and I would recommend it to readers of the fantasy genre. It would best to also get a copy of the first book In A Wolf's Eyes.

NB I received a complimentary copy in exchange for a honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Suspenseful Read!

By Silver Wolf on May 26, 2014

Catch a Wolf by Laurie Rose is book two in The Black Wolf Saga. The book starts on a run and grabs you by the throat. Raine and Ly’Tana are running from the high overlord, who is appropriately named Brutal. The overlord will do whatever he needs to do to eradicate the two and what they represent, even hiring assassins.

Raine doubts his sanity as he experiences visions while he and Ly’Tana flee. The fleeing refugees are trailed not only by Brutal’s deadly henchmen, but by wolves too.

Catch a Wolf is a fast suspenseful read with romantic elements. This tightly written tale is well worth a read. It can be read alone or out of order too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it and NEEED book 3 ASAP!

Oh my goodness I am dying inside right now. That ending was too much.

Okay so Raine and Ly’Tana and the gang are on the move with a whole lot of complications. Brutal is constantly hot on their tail with a new magician who has it out for Rygel as do the Shekinah Tongu who Rygel blinded. A bad storm rolls through and they almost don’t make it. The wolves that Raine is so scared of are making their presence known.

So oh my goodness I can’t even begin to describe how I’m feeling right not. Raine and Ly’Tana is such an awesome movie I honestly couldn’t have asked for better characters. Ly’Tana while she has her insecurities she is still so strong and loyal. Raine is definitely way more vulnerable than he has ever been in the last book. He tries really hard to not be the leader he knows he has to be and tries to push everyone away because he thinks it is what’s best.

The romance while there is a lot more than the last book I love how it’s not the main focus in this book. I love how Raine and Ly’Tana have such a great sense of humor as do the other characters. While the situation is always serious I have to say the amazing characters are so amazing written that I laughed cried with the characters while still feeling the tension so that is absolutely amazing.

Catch a Wolf is an amazing sequel and I am so dying for the third book so I am hoping that news about it will be released soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Catch A Wolf

Ohhhh my A Katie Rose!!! I thought the first book was good!! I do so hope the next one is ready to read! The characters created in the first book are carried through faithfully into this sequel and we learn more about each of them in the process of wandering the seas of love and magic. They also carry the message of how important it is to recognise and accept your own true self. I definitely recommend both of these books but be warned - they are highly addictive!!
